15th Anniversary Giveaway Campaign
Victor Ent. / flying dog has posted part of the Everywhere PV on their Youtube channel. This new song sounds absolutely beautiful, and the same could be said about how Maaya looks in the video. If you haven't seen the PV or any of the commercials, what are you waiting for?

Victor Ent. is also running a gift / giveaway campaign as part of Maaya's 15th anniversary. This campaign is mainly for Japan and details are on Maaya's official site. For Maaya fans outside of Japan, the good news is that CD Japan is participating in the giveaway. In order to qualify, you need to buy Everywhere and any of Maaya's older albums (specifically the reissued versions). CD Japan has info on the campaign on their own site.

Everyone that participates in the campaign will receive a 15th Anniversary logo sticker. One grand winner will receive a 15th Anniversary mini-piano, but I think you need to live in Japan to get that. Here's a list of the other prizes.

Official Everywhere Mini-site
Maaya's official site now has an Everywhere mini-site. There's not much on there currently except the track list, sample clips and the two commercials I posted about last week. The link actually goes to a page highlighting her 15th anniversary. This might be a hint of future releases from Victor Ent. / flying dog related to the big anniversary. I highly suspect they are planning a dvd release (and maybe blu-ray too) of Maaya's Budokan birthday concert. Let's hope she also has a cd single and/or album with all new songs in the works for this year.

This page on the Victor Ent. / flying dog web site has numerous sample clips of Maaya's upcoming best album. In particular, there are samples for Everywhere and Loop - sunset side. I've converted those specific clips into Flash and mp3 formats.

As I expected, only a couple songs are remixed / rearranged (which I've highlighted below). It's a shame some of her more obscure songs are not included (specifically her Wolf's Rain and Arjuna music).

Maaya Album Reissues
According to CD Japan, Victor Ent. / fly dog is reprinting many of Maaya's albums as part of her 15th career anniversary. The albums being reprinted are Grapefruit, Dive, Hotchpotch, Lucy, Easy Listening, Nikopachi, Shounen Alice, Yuunagi Loop and 30minutes night flight. All reissues will be out on 3/24. What's interesting is that the original prints of many of these cds are still available and discounted by 5% on CD Japan. In any case, this might be a good time for Maaya fans to fill any gaps in their collections. Here are links to original prints still available on CD Japan for 5% off.

While I am excited about Maaya's upcoming "Everywhere" best album, I really hope she is working on more new music this year. A dvd of her Budokan concert would be nice too.

Anniversary Best Album
"Everywhere" out March 31, 2010
Apparently I missed the big announcement on Maaya's official site that Victor Ent. / flying dog will be releasing her 15th anniversary best album on the same day as her Budokan concert. Maaya's 30th birthday is certainly turning out to be a huge event!

The best album will include 30 songs (on 2 cds) from her previous singles and albums. Some of the songs will be remixed / rearranged, but I anticipate most of the tracks will be exactly the same from her previous releases. There will be 1 new song, not surprisingly titled "Everywhere". Maaya composed and wrote lyrics for this song, which I think is the first time she's done both. Victor Ent. is releasing a limited edition of the album, which includes a dvd containing promotional / music videos (PVs) for Everywhere and Magic Number. Oddly enough, the LE will be the same price as the regular edition. Here are catalog #s for both album editions.

Anime Voice Role in Trigun Movie
According to Maaya's official site, she has a voice role in the upcoming Trigun: Badlands Rumble movie. She plays a female bounty hunter named Amelia (McFly?). Her character is not listed on the movie web site, but Amelia might be the red haired woman shown in the below trailer.

New Voice Role in Cobra TV Anime
Maaya is still voice acting in anime, and she has a role in the upcoming Cobra The Animation TV series. She plays a character named Secret (yes that's the actual name), which might be a major role. You can see a picture of Secret on the official Cobra web site. Click on the Character button on the top navigation bar and Secret is the 3rd profile. The anime starts airing on January 2. For people in N. America and parts of Europe, Crunchyroll will be streaming the show on-line with English subtitles almost simultaneously as it airs in Japan.

Magic Number Page Up
I received my copy of Magic Number from CD Japan earlier this week, and have posted a page with samples clips here. The single seems to be selling fairly well so far. It ranked #12 on the Oricon sales charts in it's first week.

Mini-site and Music Video (PV)
Victor Ent. / flying dog recently added a Magic Number splash page to Maaya's official site. On the page, there are sample clips of the upcoming cd single, music video and some notes from Maaya. Some sections of the mini-site are still under construction, so expect those areas to be opened up closer to Magic Number's release date. The PV is also up on Youtube, in fact looks like it was leaked online over two weeks ago. Maaya looks adorable as usual.
